Body-Centred Therapy
What is Body Centred Therapy?
This form of therapy is a Hakomi informed therapy. Hakomi was developed about 40 years ago as a way to bring compassionate understanding and loving presence to the full gamut of human experience. Hakomi is a Hopi word that literally means “Where do I stand in relation to the many realms”.
This heart centered practice assists one to discover the ways in which one creates unnecessary suffering in their lives. From this discovery, the patterns can be slowly untangled until one has a loving relationship with them or possibly will be free of them all together.
In a session with me, I will listen with a compassionate heart and do my best to assist you in discovering what is happening in your system (body) in relation to whatever you are exploring. The therapy goes as fast or slow as you need for your own self-healing and does not push for any particular outcome.
My name is Adam and I have recently graduated from the 3-year training program with the Hakomi institute. It was a rich and transformative experience that I will cherish for ever. This means I am now on the path to become certified with the institute and includes further development and support in my role as a therapist.
I have been in and around the healing arts for over 17 years. Since this time, I have been passionate about diving into the depth of human experience. Meditation and Yoga, years in the forests of Canada, Kinesiology, and Clinical Hypnotherapy trainings have supported me through this time.
Currently I run a small garden business, play music in a band called Etheara, and facilitate camps that support teenage youth through a Rites of Passage process.
